Eating Well to Maintain Your New Weight

You have reached your goal weight CONGRATULATIONS!!! and now you need to re-set the new weight point that your body will automatically maintain. Re-setting the metabolism is an extremely important part of the hCG Weight Control Program and this can be done by basically eating well.

Normally after there has been weight loss the body will naturally try to recover all of the weight that was lost. This is a fact that most people are not aware of when they have completed a weight loss program. They must follow a method of re-setting the metabolism or else the body will successfully regain all of the weight. This is why so many dieters re-gain all the weight after losing it.

Entering the Maintenance weeks 1-3 can be scary. You have gone from a very strict, very limited food program while you were losing weight to a more free unstructured eating plan. Every patient will have different needs, therefore different caloric minimums will need to be met daily to prevent weight gain or muscle loss (having a bio-impedence weight scale is great to keep an eye on fat and muscle percentages).

Once we have determined the minimum daily caloric needs, the way to achieve that number will be by adding healthy fats that will supply nutrients to make you feel happy, energetic and satisfied. Healthy fats include naturally occurring saturated fats that are found in nature and non-damaged, mono- and polyunsaturated oils. Avoid BAD FATS which are man-made such as margarine, shortening and all hydrogenated or partially-hydrogenated polyunsaturated vegetable oils. These bad fats are part of why you gained weight in the first place; which led to creating a damaged/sluggish metabolism.

Basically, to retrain your new body to maintain the new weight, it is very important to maintain the weight that you were at after your last hCG dose. To do this it is very important to weigh yourself daily and follow the program as closely as possible.

Maintenance Weeks 1-3: In addition to your current allowable proteins, you will now get to add turkey, pork, egg yolks and almonds. Every non-starchy vegetable will also be added. Avoid potatoes, corn, peas and carrots etc...all of the starchy vegetables are considered a carbohydrates and are not allowed at this time.

Stick to the fruit options from the weight-loss phase, continue drinking plenty of water and get enough sleep every night.

The key to re-setting your metabolism is to eat well. You have worked too hard to gain all that weight back. We will be here for you every step of the way, we want you to achieve your weight loss goals and optimum health.

Maintenance Weeks 4-6 to come...
